The islands of the Doecanese are located in the south-eastern Aegean Sea and are comprised of 14 main islands and numerous smaller islets.
The main isles are: Astypalaia, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kastelorizo, Kos, Leipsoi, Nisyros, Patmos, Symi, Tylos and Chalki.
This island group has witnessed substantial development in the tourism field, offering a wealth of attractions including wonderful historical sights (particularly those heralding from the Venetian occupation), magnificent religious monuments and stunning beaches. The distances between the islands are very short and it is well worth spending time discovering the delights of their hinterland.
Samos with its sweet wine and numerous species of indigenous orchid, serene Patmos with its strong sense of Christendom, Karpathos with its traditions and contrasts, Rhodes with its history of knights and legends and Kos with its exciting night life all serve to compose a beautiful puzzle of images, sounds and flavours that will transform your holiday into an unforgettable experience.
